Looking to team up with a seasoned writer

I am songwriter/musician with a large catalog of catchy, original songs of various genres (rock, pop, musical-sounding, children’s song, jazzy, bluesy, etc.). They’ve been beautifully produced and published and put onto albums. They include fem as well as male voices.

There are a number of gems among them – and the potential is there to string them together with a storyline, to use them as vehicles for propelling a plot or character-development forward in a musical. Probably more of a drama with some comedy, than a comedy with some drama.

My strength, I believe, is in song composition -- not in storytelling or scriptwriting. I do live performance art, and do write my own one-man shows, and they do involve some storytelling, and I have even tried my hand at writing some plays… but the art and craft of plot and character design that goes into creating a play is not in my core wheelhouse.

I need to team up with a seasoned scriptwriter who can bring that kind of plot expertise to the table. There is a big bucket of over 100 songs to choose from, each of them a kind of story in themselves. The melodies are strong. Now they need characters to sing them.

Writers with experience putting things into stage (or film) production, experience collaborating with a team, and most of all experience constructing the rises & falls of tension between characters that make great drama – please contact me. If you are associated with a theater company and/or have connections with directors, actors, etc. - that could add a lot of value.

I am not sure about compensation. Please expect great songs from me, with a kind of universal appeal.
