Disney Cruise Line Performers

Disney Cruise Line® is conducting auditions for a series of new entertainment offerings coming to our newest ship the Disney Destiny along with existing roles throughout the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. Disney takes pride in the art of theatrical storytelling, producing the highest caliber entertainment at sea, telling stories only Disney can tell in a unique and exciting way! This production has an intentionally inclusive casting approach.

Disney Live Entertainment Talent Casting strives to represent the cultural and ethnic backgrounds of our diverse characters while continuing to maintain the embodiment and artistic spirit of these roles. We also aspire to create a more inclusive and accessible world by reimagining the way we tell stories and who tells them. Disney Cruise Line’s Walt Disney Theatre productions have an intentionally inclusive casting approach, open and welcoming to all performers for all roles.

Rehearsal takes place in Toronto, Canada. Typical contract includes up to 8 weeks rehearsal and 6 months onboard. Contract includes competitive pay, travel, room and board – single performance cabin, guest sailing privileges, significant contract completion bonus and some guest dining privileges.

SEEKING:

Seeking highly skilled and versatile performers with a strong background in improv and/or sketch comedy, coupled with a proficiency in musical theatre to develop a repertory of Disney entertainments at sea. A collaborative spirit and openness are a must as our performers will be creating characters for a repertory of interconnected immersive shows that bring Disney’s classic stories to life in unexpected and captivating ways. The performers will play a crucial role in shaping each show through their improvisational skills, adding a fresh and dynamic element to beloved tales.

The ability to engage with an audience is a must. Performers with the ability to play handheld instruments is also a plus.

• FORTUNE TELLER & STORYTELLER: Seeking an effervescent and charming female-identifying actor, 20s-30s, with strong improvisational abilities to portray a quick-witted and deliciously wicked fortune teller. She pretends to merely dabble in predictions, but she sees more than she lets on. She carries the magical “Book of Stories”. Give her your name. She may know your story. She is one half of a Traveling Medicine Show duo who spin tales to enlighten and amuse. However, these two mysterious beings seem to have magical influence over the stories they tell. Singer and musician a plus.
• PEDDLER OF ELIXIRS & STORYTELLER: Seeking a charismatic and engaging male-identifying actor, 20s-30s, with strong improvisational abilities to portray an eager and entrepreneurial showman with stories to tell and elixirs to sell. He peddles tiny potions labelled “Dumb Luck” and “Captivating Charm” — a chance to change fate. He is one half of a Traveling Medicine Show duo who spin tales to enlighten and amuse. However, these two mysterious beings seem to have magical influence over the stories they tell. Singer and musician a plus.
• CORIANDER: 21 to 35 years old, all ethnicities, female-identifying actor. Seeking performers highly experienced in improve and/or sketch comedy with a musical theatre background. Immersive theatre experience a plus. Performs in a variety of shows and activations, including Treasure Found, The Jungle Cruise: An Interactive Story Adventure and more. Comfortable with physical comedy.
• SAGE: 21 to 35 years old, all ethnicities, male-identifying actor. Seeking performers highly experienced in improve and/or sketch comedy with a musical theatre background. Immersive theatre experience a plus. Performs in a variety of shows and activations, including Treasure Found, The Jungle Cruise: An Interactive Story Adventure and more. Comfortable with physical comedy.
• FAIRY GODMOTHER: Female identifying improvisational comedic actor, 20’s to 30’s to portray the bubbly and magical Fairy Godmother, as appears in the Disney animated feature, CINDERELLA. Actor will also play Dagmar Birgir in Arendelle: An Enchanted Engagement and Lady Lily.
• LORD LEOPOLD: 20’s to late 30’s, all ethnicities, male-identifying. Seeking performers highly experienced in improv and/or sketch comedy with a musical theatre background. Comfortable with physical comedy and stage combat.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Step 1: Create/Update Performer Profile

• Make sure your profile includes an up-to-date headshot, resume, and contact information
• Upload any relevant performance videos or reels to your profile as an unlisted YouTube link (click the edit/pencil button in the Links section of your profile)
• All candidates must have a profile to be considered

Step 2: Check-in to Audition Submission

• Please visit checkin.disneyauditions.com - at the top of the page, select “Check to View Auditions Available for Check-in”
• Select the audition “Disney Cruise Line | Shipboard Performers  (Online Submission for In-Person NYC Audition)"
• Take a selfie, answer the check-in questions, and submit
• You’re all set! Please do not submit more than once

Step 3: Next Steps

• The team will reach out directly should they need anything further
• Select candidates may be asked to attend an in-person audition appointment on Wednesday, April 2nd or Thursday, April 3rd

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• If selected, performers will be hired as crew and must complete all application, pre-employment, and onboarding requirements.
• Must be willing to comply with all Disney grooming guidelines and employment standards.
• All performers must be at least 18 years of age.
• All performers must be fluent in English (understanding, speaking, and writing).
• Travel is required.
• We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to audition.
