Role is a historical figure Black Poet Francis Watkins Harper an outspoken abolitionists, poet, suffragist, teacher, and public speaker Beginning in 1845, she was one of the first African American women to be published in the United States. She is a longtime friend of Poet John Greenleaf Whittier.
Short play is “The Abolitionist’s Refrain” by Michael Cormier.
